Les Triaboliques, "a pleasingly ragged supergroup", as reported in The Guardian, was formed by three veteran British musicians. Guitarist Justin Adams is best known for his inventive playing with Robert Plant, Sinead O’Connor and Jah Wobble, Ben Mandelson worked with 3 Mustaphas 3 and Billy Bragg’s Blokes. And Lu Edmonds first came to prominence as a guitarist with the pioneering British punk band the Damned, and subsequently built his rep with the Mekons, Shriekback, Siberian throat-singing group Yat-Kha and PiL. Les Triaboliques manage the impossible: to blend Justin’s desert-blues-soaked guitars with Lu’s Turkadelic saz and cümbüş and Ben’s mandolin/barizouki world-string-theories. The Desert, The Delta, The Steppes, The Underground. Crossing the stone bridge between dark city and dusk.
