Two Nepalese practitioners of healing sound work, Kamal Dhakal and Raj Kumar Gurung, invite you to a unique sound bath experience. You will be surrounded by the tones of bowls, gongs, and chimes. The vibrations of handcrafted Nepalese bowls flow through the entire body, releasing blockages and inducing a state of deep meditation, while the sound of the singing bowls gently invites your mind on a journey. Himalayan singing bowls are renowned for their therapeutic healing effects, such as reducing stress, promoting relaxation, improving concentration, enhancing sleep quality, and even reducing the perception of pain. Kamal and Raj speak of the ancient singing and vibrating bowls as “mothers” that bring us sacred feminine energy. Their musical frequencies and vibrations connect our bodies with the sounds of the universe and other celestial bodies.
For a few days, a small studio called Nirvana Singing Bowls—based by a lake in beautiful Pokhara—will be brought to Punctum. In clear weather, you can see the Annapurna mountain range from their studio window. The vast Himalayan peaks remind us how small our footprints are, how fleeting our existence is, and how we can feel lighter when we let our ego dissolve. From this understanding flows the wisdom and mystery of singing bowls.
