Banned From Utopia (referring to Frank Zappa’s “The Man From Utopia” album) is one of Zappa’s post-Zappa “revivals” featuring his former bandmates. The protagonists in this case are singer and guitarist Ray White (Frank Zappa 1976 – 1984) and keyboardist, singer and saxophonist Robert (Bobby) Martin (Frank Zappa 1981 – 1988), who are backed in the current line-up by drummer Chad Wackerman (Frank Zappa 1981 – 1988), Scott Thunes (Frank Zappa 1981 – 1988) on bass guitar and guitarists Robbie Mangano (Grandmothers of Invention) and Jamie Kime (Zappa plays Zappa 2007 – 2012).
