Gruppo ANNA LA CHINA

Ana la China's dance style is characterized by deep expressiveness. When she dances, dressed in dark-colored, close-fitting trousers and full of wild passion, the movements of her arms evoke the flight of birds, and the arabesques she conjures in the air are like poems that express the sadness and pride of a long-suffering nation. Among the dances she performs are the bulería (from the bolero), the soleá (from the word for "solitude"), the farruca (from the dance called the farouche, usually danced only by men) and the siguiriya (from the traditional seguedilla).

Antonio de la Malena (voice)
A singer of the old Romany school, Antonio comes from Jerez de la Frontera, located in the region where flamenco was born. He has worked with renowned flamenco artists on many occasions. His singing is highly prized for its powerful duende. He was one of the singers on the CD "Jerez: Fiesta y Cante Jondo", released in Paris as part of the Flamenco Vivo collection.

Domingo de los Santos "Rubichi"(guitar)
Domingo is a Romany from Jerez, and belongs to the purest flamenco tradition. Since his earliest youth he has been accompanying the best artists from this region. He is equally outstanding whether he is accompanying a singer or a dancer. His playing is sober, clear and rhythmically flawless.

Luis de la Tota (percussion)
Luis also comes from Jerez, and is known as one of the best flamenco percussionists thanks to his excellent playing on the cajón and palmero. As a lyricist, he has also written many songs for singers from Jerez.
