The collaboration between legendary pianist Alexander von Schlippenbach and the band Die Enttäuschung (Rudi Mahall, Axel Dörner, Jan Roder, Kasper Tom) presents Monk’s music in a form you won’t hear anywhere else – raw, concentrated, and shaped specifically for live performance over the course of a single evening.

This is not an encyclopedic reconstruction, but a living, dynamic form in which Monk’s compositions are newly arranged, at times radically condensed, elsewhere expanded.
