Tom Skinner & Voices of Bishara

UK |

A key figure of the London jazz scene, co-founder of the groundbreaking Sons of Kemet and member of the experimental rock formation The Smile, will present the new album of one of the most fascinating ensembles in contemporary British jazz.

British drummer and composer Tom Skinner is coming to Prague with his solo project Voices of Bishara, one of the most intriguing groups in today’s London jazz—where jazz, electronics and African influences merge, showing how far jazz unafraid of the future can go.

For two decades, Tom Skinner has been a central figure in the London jazz community. He is the co-founder of the pioneering Sons of Kemet, a sought-after collaborator of top electronic producers, the author of his own unconventional projects (Hello Skinny), and last but not least also a member of the experimental rock formation The Smile. His first solo album under his own name, Voices of Bishara (2022), was hailed by critics as one of the best jazz albums of the year. He comes to Prague with his new album Kaleidoscopic Visions (2025) and will perform in an unusual lineup:

Tom Skinner – drums, percussion;
Tom Herbert – double bass;
Francesca Ter Berg / Kareem Dayes – cello;
Chelsea Carmichael – tenor saxophone, flute;
Robert Stillman – tenor saxophone, bass clarinet.
