About the music programme:
PAOLO ANGELI – will perform new concept album Jar’a, a surprising album in which the prepared Sardinian guitar, without any overdubs, achieves the tonal range and sonic pressure of a post-rock ensemble. The suite in six movements brings together avant-garde and ancient traditional singing rituals, evoking wide open spaces, combining underground worlds and the most ancestral Sardinia. Jar’a is a concept album, with three-dimensional sound, in which Paolo Angeli expresses an innovative contemporary language, inlaying it with fragile, emotive vocals.

TARA FUKI – Their music is absolutely racy and uniqe, based on common improvisations which are then continually elaborated, delicately dynamic and rich in its expression. Enriched by reflections of different musical styles with the flavour of distant lands, it creates an original kaleidoscope of the feminine inner world. Their songs for two wooden bodies interlaced by caressing sound of Polish language create a fragile web of tones which, by a wave of a bow, can change into dangerous trap. Like dreams, their music can also gently caress and soothe, but also hurt in its brutal intensity. Since the beginning in 2000, Tara Fuki has been very successful performing in the concerts across Europe. The first Czech band ever having showcase at Womex (2007 in Sevilla).

THE SPERMBANKERS Psychedelic Christian Gospel Grunge Rock.

TŘASKAVÁ SMĚS – A group of excessively playful artists – František Skála, Petr Nikl, Mira Černý, Ondra Černý a Petr Tichý & unknown numbers of instruments, animals and plants. The band plays their own songs & cover songs (Elvis Presley, Tom Waits, Bob Dylan).

About ArtMill:
ArtMill is an eco-art center on an organic farm in the heart of Central Europe, in the Bohemian countryside. Established in 2004 by american artist Barbara Benish, we have hosted artists-in-residence, international Study Abroad programs, a summer camp for youth, and produced dozens of exhibitions with hundreds of artists from around the world. The old flour mill is surrounded by agricultural land, a lake, and rolling hills. Under the umbrella of our NGO, ArtDialog, we are committed to sustainable education via arts and science, with global outreach that can ultimately affect policy and social change. ArtMill’s site in po-šumava offers visitors a chance to experience the rural beauty and solitude of nature, while helping contribute to the stewardship and regeneration of our shared eco-systems.
